Parkesburg Music Conservatory, located just six miles west of Coatesville on Route 372, was founded in 2004 in the heart of historic Parkesburg. This tastefully decorated 100-year old Victorian building has a southern decor boasting three elegant practice studios and a grand piano in the living room.

    The owner, Lynne Hamer, teaches a myriad of piano styles: classical, show tunes, jazz, blues and hymns. Lynne holds a B.A. (cum laude) from Immaculata University and an M.A. in Music Therapy. Since Lynne has clinical experience in the field of music therapy and has extensive teaching experience, each student's lesson is individualized and tailored creatively and objectively in meeting the desired musical goals. Lynne also teaches violin, drums, guitar and bass guitar at this location and in West Chester at Taylor's Music. Genres include folk, classical, jazz, blues, classic rock, and song writing. Therapeutic drum circles are also held at this studio. Recitals are held once a year in the West Chester and Parkesburg locations.

    Lynne's performing experience includes performing liturgical music for various churches in the Philadelphia area including directing a special Taize mass for the Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul in Philadelphia, Gospel piano for St. Katherine Drexel Church in Chester, and Instrumentalist at Our Lady of the Rosary church in Coatesville. Lynne also has experience playing other musical venues including blues with the Delaware Destroyers, Senator Andrew Dinniman's inaugural celebration, private parties for executives such as Cingular Wireless; Hibernia Park Fiddler's Picnic, coffee houses, jazz and blues bands on the main line, and Animal Planet credits relating to producing wildlife footage and soundtracks. Lynne is also the author of Name That Dog. More recently, Lynne has formed a 70s duo referred to as the Obsession Duo which performs at coffee houses and restaurants.

    All lessons are $25.00 per half an hour. Lessons are billed monthly pursuant to our policies and procedures.


Other Instructors

    Paul Colombo got his first job as a guitar teacher in 1980 at Wilmington Piano Co. in The Concord Mall, Wilmington, Delaware. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from The University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies Degree from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a teacher, Paul specializes in all styles of rock from classic to metal, acoustic guitar styles, jazz improvisation and music theory. As a performer, Paul has played and recorded with Grammy winners Peter Nero and The Delfonics. From his initial inspirations The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix to his continuing study of the great guitarists and musicians, Paul's lifelong dedication to growth as a musician and love of sharing his knowledge is an inspiration to all students of the guitar.
